| Q: |
Why do I get a discount?
|
| A: |
Basically it is simple. Your are renting directly form the
owner of Villa #84. If you rent through the management system
they charge as much 25% commission. You receive the benefit
of renting directly through us.
|
| Q: |
How is my rate determined?
|
| A: |
It is based on four criteria. Time of year, number in your
party and how far in advance you book (sorta like an airline
ticket), and length of stay (longer stay, lower price).
|
| Q: |
Are the rates per person or for the entire villa?
|
| A: |
Our rates are for the entire villa, but there can be no large
parties, weddings or large gatherings allowed in the villas
without written permission. Villas may not be occupied by
more guests than specified in the rental contract. Rates are
based on occupancy and additional fees may apply
|
| Q: |
What is the required length of stay?
|
| A: |
Normally a 7 night stay is required for the best prices.
Minimum rental period will be three (3) days. During the Christmas
and New Years Holiday period, most villas require a minimum
of 14 nights.
|
| Q: |
Does a weekly rental always start on the same day each week?
|
| A: |
In the Caribbean, you can
arrive on any day of the week, as long as the Villa is available.
|
| Q: |
When is In Season and Off Season?
|
| A: |
In the Caribbean, 'In Season' (also known as Winter and High
Season) begins in mid-December and lasts until mid-April.
The lower rates of 'Off Season' (Summer or Low Season) take
effect until mid-December.
|
| Q: |
What do we need to bring?
|
| A: |
Not much. We have complete laundry facilities and your staff
will do all the dirty work. Electricity is 110 and the phone
system is by Verizon. Many cell phones can roam in the Dominican
Republic (ATT and Verizon best).
- We suggest renting a car to explore the fabulous sites
and beaches that surround you, but many people never leave
SeaHorse Ranch. It is a complete resort destination and
all food can be catered if desired (SeaHorse Ranch has a
private gourmet restaurant just for you). Taxi's are easily
arranged and if you can hire a taxi and driver for the day
at reasonable prices.
- Free internet (wireless dsl) is included. Bring your
laptop.

| Q: |
If we do not book all the bedrooms in a villa will someone
else (i.e. strangers) be using those bedrooms and sharing
the house?
|
| A: |
Absolutely not. You are renting the entire villa and you
never have to share a villa with anyone other than those in
your party.
|
| Q: |
Is a villa a good idea for a honeymoon?
|
| A: |
It's an exceptional idea and a great value. SeaHorse Ranch
Villas are private and spacious. Ask for our special "
just for couples." (My brother owns Villa #2 -- only
for couples, ocean front and an amazing place for a honeymoon).
|
| Q: |
Where is this villa located and how do I get there?
|
| A: |
The Villa is inside a private community (SeaHorse Ranch)
on the North coast of the Dominican Republic. SeaHorse Ranch
is approximately 10 minutes from the international airport
of Puerto Plata (airline code is "pop"). Easy immigration
and rental car booths are to your right as you exit. Both
American Airlines and Continental have daily flights from
Miami or New York.
- Another alternative is the international airport of Santiago
(airline code
"sti") that is one and a half hours away. I mention
this because there is
daily multiple flights on Continental, American, Delta and
now Jet Blue and
sometimes the fairs are much lower and better connections.
This more than
makes up for the one way fare of $75.00 for a cab. I suggest
a cab, unless
you know the drive and then of course you can rent a car.
I like to land in
Santiago and leave from Puerta Plata (called open-jaws ticket,
no extra
charge).
